ICEBREAKER—Think of a time during the past week when you felt your emotions changing in the direction of impatience and anger.
APPLY THE BIBLE - Read Luke 6:43-45 - Although anger may be initiated by something outside of you, by what is it colored, controlled and shaped? What does the scripture you read reveal?
Q1—What is the purpose of a battle? What does this have to do with Romans 1:25? ?
Q2— Where do I see a battle raging between what I desire and what God desires? Share an example. What are some of those little moments of daily life where my anger shows up? .
Q3—. What is your typical mode of punishment when you do not get your way? (Silence, withdrawal, angry words, violence?). Pastor Paul talked about the turtle and the skunk, which one applies to you?
Q4—If you are a part of the conflict, you have a part in the conflict. What does that statement mean to you?
A LITTLE LOVE HOMEWORK:
· At some point this week write down your response to: Where this past week have I been irritable? With whom? What was I focusing on?
· CHANCE TO SERVE Have you and your group determined how you will serve during LOVE WEEK? Discuss what kinds of events would fit your Group. Yes, you can participate in more than one outreach if that works for your Group! Thank you for your hearts of compassion towards our “neighbors.”
